I was recently reading that some babies Ben’s age (3 months) can roll over. He could not, which I’m sure is more a function of me hardly doing tummy time with him (I know, I know!), than a function of Ben’s future athletic prowess.
In any case, I realized we needed to do more tummy time ASAP. I also wanted to catch his first time rolling over on video, so I have approximately 5,362 cell phone videos of Ben on his stomach, getting increasingly pissed about all this tummy time with a camera shoved in his face. Based on his floundering, it was relatively clear that this wasn’t going to happen any minute, so I figured we had at least a week or two before the big day.
Enjoying some tummy time a few weeks ago…
I was setting up his room for a little photo shoot this morning, and without thinking, put him on his belly for seriously, 5 seconds, while I took the lens cap off my regular camera. In that 5 seconds, when I wasn’t prepared with my cell phone video camera, he freaking rolled over!
Luckily I was able to catch the second rollover (barely):
Yikes – what a big boy! :-)

V shows NO DESIRE to roll over, lol.Shes done it some on a fluke, and totally could if she wanted to, but I put her down for tummy time and she either screams, or falls asleep. lol
ReplyDeleteGo Ben! 3 months is super early- our ped. said it typically doesn't happen until 4-5 months.
He must be a genius. :)

ReplyDeleteHahaha well, he's only done it twice. I just had him on his stomach for 10 minutes and it was more floundering. He was on top of a sheet that wasn't 100% flat on the ground, so I wonder if any of the little fabric folds gave him some leverage. But of course, he's still a genius hahahaha :-)
