(Sing to tune in video below) I am back, I am back, I am getting my computer baaaaack!
This also makes me laugh because Derek and I sing “3 Best Friends” about the two of us and Benjamin – tee hee.
After a week of being without my computer, it is FINALLY fixed. I was having some serious withdrawals and was about to try and get some Xanax to cope. I kid, I kid.
Now begins the giant-pain-in-the-ass process of getting my computer up and running like it was before. I ended up with a brand new hard drive – meaning, every file, product, favorite, saved password – EVERYTHING – now needs to be re-loaded. ASAP. How obnoxious!
Before the hard drive failed, I had major writer’s block, but of course, as soon as I dropped it off to be fixed, I couldn’t stop writing blog posts in my head. Hopefully a little time away will = many great ideas!
You haven’t missed anything too exciting since the last post. I took Benjamin to his first movie yesterday – Mirror Mirror. I was nervous that he would fuss and cry the whole time and that we would have to leave, but miraculously (and I mean miraculously, because this little boy does not believe in long naps anymore!), he slept through the entire thing. We went to the earliest showing, thinking it would be totally empty – but we had about 15 people as company, which was more than I expected.
I snagged a seat in the back row, and had the entire back half of the theater to myself. I fed Ben (YIKES that’s the most public BF’ing experience I have had so far – granted, it was dark, I had a cover, and I was a million feet away from the closest person, but still!), then walked the back row a few times and rocked him to sleep. He woke up during the second half of the movie, so I walked and rocked some more, and he slept until the movie ended.
Because I’m slightly ridiculous, I had to try and get a picture of Ben at his first movie, but I was scared the movie people would come throw me out for bootlegging, so I snapped one with my phone super fast and that was the end of it. The flash is so long and bright, which explains the closed eyes:
That’s all for now.
Okay, just kidding. Did anyone happen to watch The Challenge: Battle of the Exes reunion show? I’m watching it on DVR now and I can’t stop noticing Aneesa’s name spelled wrong on the backdrop (misspelled, “Anessa”) and imagining how that all went down. I picture a dumb intern, young, of course, not knowing who Aneesa is simply out of youngness (old folks like me would know, since I’ve been around long enough to have watched her on her season of the Real World [Chicago!]), spelling it wrong on the graphic, sending it to printing, and his/her boss flipping out when unpacking the backdrop, hours before filming and thus too late to fix the error. I’ve spent an exorbitant amount of time wondering if Aneesa noticed the error. My money is on yes.
Yes, I do have an active imagination but I’d be willing to bet $100 that’s how it all went down.
