Thank you again, Megan, for the wonderful idea that I just stole borrowed. I couldn’t help myself. Sorry to be a rat-a-tat-tat-copy-cat, but this link-up sounded too good to resist.
You know I love me a good link-up and I’m always looking for more.
Anyway, an extra thanks to Neely & Ashley for coming up with this glorious fun idea!
For anyone who is visiting from the link-up, WELCOME! Grab yourself a cookie (or cake batter, my fave), stay awhile, and enjoy!
And now, for this week’s questions!
How did you come up with your blog name?
I had been brainstorming blog names for a year – bananas, right?! I wanted to start a blog once we had a baby, and the name had to be perfect. I was coming up with NOTHING. I wish I could find my original brainstorm list so I could share the ridiculousness.
Anyway, last summer when I was getting-larger-by-the-second pregnant (Literally. Think 11 pounds in 4 weeks.), I settled down on the couch on a Saturday morning and had Oreos for breakfast (perhaps this is why I gained 11 pounds in 4 weeks?). It immediately hit me – COOKIES FOR BREAKFAST! It fit all my requirements – represented me (I have cookies and other non-healthy items like cake, cake batter, etc. for breakfast on a far-too-regular basis because… well, that’s how I roll), motherhood (because sometimes life is too crazy/hectic to do things the “normal” way – sometimes you give in to things you swore you’d never do, just to get by), and cooking (I originally planned on doing a lot of cooking posts (Tasty Tuesday was my plan!), but haven’t done any yet… oops!).
What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Making new friends, hands down! I’m like that kid on the playground that’s all, “Look at me, look at me, BE MY FRIEND! I’ll give you a candy bar (too desperate?) if you’ll be my friend!” because I really just want to be friends with everyone! For reals. Everyone.
What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without?
EOS lip balm. Thanks, Kay :)
Facebook or Twitter? and why?
If you asked me this 6 months ago, I would have said Facebook, because I hadn’t been sucked into Twitter yet. Now, definitely Twitter, hands down. I love how fast and accessible it is – and that with the right hashtag, you can have zero followers, ask a question, and get responses from people you don’t even know – it just gets out there (this makes the marketer in me quite giddy). It’s so efficient and direct and it’s a great way to connect with people.
If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?
I am finding this question to be harder than coming up with a solution for world peace. I have a whole bunch of favorite celebrities (Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, anyone from Real Housewives fame, to name a few.), but they don’t strike me as blog readers or really similar to me. I think it would be pretty flippin’ cool if Tori Spelling read my blog – I feel like we have things in common (okay as many as you can for the hugely different backgrounds we come from) and she would enjoy it. I love that she has a big family, wants a bigger family, and has farm animals for pets (Totes McGoats!). That seems pretty dang cool to me!
What is something you want people to know about your blog?
My friends and family do not know I have a blog (minus a handful of exceptions), and that’s an intentional move by me. Is it weird that I’d rather share my life with strangers than people I know in real life? Perhaps. But I haven’t felt ready to share this with people outside of a very small circle. It’s like the circle of trust in Meet the Parents.
Now, if the people in the circle choose to share it with others, that’s totally fine, awesome, and exciting – the more, the merrier – but I just can’t pull the trigger myself! I think this is why I am literally OVER THE MOON every time I get a new reader or new comment – I feel like I’ve really worked for it. Now I’m definitely not saying that if your friends/family read your blog, you don’t work for new readers! In the beginning stages (which I’m in right now), I think it’s just a little harder getting out there if you’re going it alone and don’t have your usual team of supporters cheering you on, sharing your posts with friends, etc. And that’s all I have to say about that!
That’s all for now, my new friends! Thank you again for coming by. I hope I have been a hospitable hostess!

ReplyDeleteCan you believe I bought my first EOS balm just yersterday!?
Woop woop!
ReplyDeleteOk so I loved EOS, I especially love how the shape is totally different. Then...I found this brand...because it was free when I bought my K'tan (which my husband lovingly calls the crap-tan because we hate it) And I just ordered like 6 more. And it's 2.99 with free shipping. Why not.
