So week 33 is clearly the week of fat face. Okay, technically I filmed this so late it was week 34, but whatever. I’ll try to play it off as a bad camera angle, but hey – a girl gets puffy sometimes.
Week 33 was also the week of manic unpacking and birthday crafting. Hopefully I’ll soon put together an official Benjamin’s airplane-themed second birthday post to showcase all the fun things I made – Derek thought I was batsh** crazy, but I enjoyed it. Well worth the effort. And swollen feet. Tee hee.
I forgot to mention in the video that between unpacking and birthday crafting, I participated in that sleep study I mentioned a few weeks back. Basically, the researchers are investigating if there’s a connection between sleep disordered breathing (like snoring, which I have all the time anyway, but it gets way worse when I’m pregnant) and gestational diabetes. They think that the disordered breathing makes you more likely to develop GD. So I got to strap on some super sexy equipment at home one night, submit saliva samples (so gross), and do some bloodwork the morning after the study. And fill out a million surveys. I have to go back for follow-up bloodwork in a few weeks. Believe me, I was cackling like an idiot when I popped out of the bathroom with this getup on, and showed it to Derek. I am every man’s dream, I tell you.
How Far Along:
Size of baby:
Total Weight Gain:
21.5 pounds. With all the chaos of moving, I’ve been pretty bad at blood glucose testing, and apparently, eating. Never in my life have I had a problem eating!
None yet, but the old ones are looking more prominent and less fade-y.
But of course! I think I’m done shopping though. During unpacking, I’ve found a few non-maternity sweaters that work perfectly for my current state, and I have been wearing the crap out of them!
I still would be shocked if it’s not a girl, BUT, in my mind, I picture them yelling, “It’s a boy!” at the same time. So who the heck knows.
Movement has been a bit quiet lately. Less full-body rolls, and more slight twitches.
About the same. Not great, not awful.
What I miss:
Between birthday crafts and hardly being able to find essentials while unpacking, well, WINE!
Sweets, especially after Benjamin’s amazing birthday cake.
Leg cramps times a million, and more heartburn.
What I’m looking forward to:
Being fully unpacked and settled in our new home, and decorated for Christmas.
